Easy and tasty karela sabji recipe


Ingredients
:

1 Karela (bitter gourd) - 250 gms
2 Onion - 3, sliced
3 Green chilli - 2
4 Mustard oil - 4 tbsp
5 Salt - 1 tsp
6 Jeera - 1/2 tsp
7 Saunf - 1 tsp
8 Coarsely ground fennel seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
9 Hing - 1/2 tsp
10.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
11.Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
12 Dhania (coriander) powder - 1 1/2 tsp
13 Jaggery powder - 2 tsp
14 Imli (tamarind) or aamchur powder 
15 Coriander leaves

Method:

1  To make this recipe, soak imli in a little water. 2  Then slice the bitter gourd and remove the ends.
3  Combine the bitter gourd and a little salt in a        bowl. Mix it properly and keep it aside for           half  an hour.
4. Squeeze all the water from the bitter gourd and place them on a kitchen towel.
5. Heat the oil in a kadhai and add jeera and saunf. Saute for 5 minutes on medium flame.
6 Now add onions and mix well.
7.Cover and cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
8.Add haldi, laal mirch powder, dhania powder, saunf powder, and salt. Mix it well.
9  Cover and stir occasionally for a few minutes.
If the bitter gourd is easily cut, then add jaggery powder and stir it for a few minutes.
10.Sieve the imli and add the water in sabzi or you can add aamchur (dried mango powder) also.
11Stir it properly.
12.Garnish it with coriander. Eat it with chapati or paratha.
